am also co-author with Gary Novak of two web-based instructional
tools that are being used by faculty at Cal State LA.
is web-based Question/Answer/Comment software that allows students
to enter their answers to homework questions (or other assignments)
directly on a Web page which can then be viewed by all the students
in a class. Each question may be answered only once. Instructors
can use a web browser to create their own Web Q&A modules,
upload questions from a text file, edit the content of a module,
and post comments to student answers. Instructor activities are
password protected. Web Q&A gives instructors a tool for providing
timely (minutes to hours) feedback about a student's writing and
A&E is a tool for creating and administering quizzes and
surveys over the web. Quizzes and surveys can be developed and
administered remotely, data is immediately captured and stored,
real time data summaries are available, and it allows rapid data
retrieval of stored data.
